    They were wrong, but they were legal. The way to change bad laws is to put people in Congress who want to change them.
    That's certainly not going to happen in a Republican controlled House or in the glacially moving Senate.
    As Cohen says at the end of his column:

    What the NSA revelations should spark is not just a debate on surveillance, but on the way we think about terrorism and the steps that we should be willing to take both to stop it and ensure that it does not control us. We're not there yet.
