    I forgot to mention that it also includes full approach plates, and handles them automatically.

    For years and years, instrument pilots and the psychologists/human-factors engineers/pilots have said that the best set of instruments from the pilots' point of view is a virtual view out the cockpit window. This does that.

    I can see why the airlines want iPads in place of the paper charts (weight/cost savings), and why it's an extremely good thing for the pilots, too (convenience, speed, safety).
