  •  My doubts about Kerry's efforts are immense. (3+ / 0-)

This is more about a) forcing Netanyahu to act upon words of bombast he did not mean, and b) to have the WH respond to the situation and Kerry's efforts.

    •  Well then (0+ / 0-)
forcing Netanyahu to act upon words of bombast he did not mean,
its not about getting the two sides to stop fighting ?

The only reason to pitch tent is that there is a real chance of getting the two sides to hammer out a deal that gets the two sides to stop fighting .
If the situation is such that pitching a tent will not get the desired results , pitching a tent is non productive .
Asking John Kerry to pitch a tent when its not going to be productive , in hopes of doing something to Netanyahu ...

Netanyahu says to Kerry , if you think you can solve all of this , if you think there is a way to stop all of this , lets do it , I'm in .
And you say , Kerry go and do it .
I'm thinking you are asking Kerry to do more than what is possible for him to do because Netanyahu challenged him to do it .

      •  The action would be stopping (0+ / 0-)

The fighting. Specifically telling bibi to do something about the violence. Certainly it would give the US more credibility than it has now in the conflict. No guarantee it would work, obviously, but what has?
