  •  I just hit 72 hours smoke free and am not chain (6+ / 0-)

    vaping either......

I actually find the nic satisfaction lasts longer with a vaporizer than with a smoke, esp a pipe like I had switched to, so far at least.  I was loading my pipe every 15 minutes, I have topped my tank twice so far......

If a heavy smoker, start at the 24 level or it might not be enough nicotine to satisfy esp if you smoke full strength and not lights or extra lights.

I picked up a eGo-C Twist set for pops last night too, he just left after his training session and he hadn't had a smoke in over 4 hours and he hasn't done that since he was a teenager.....120 including tax and a 5 pack of 5ml flavors to choose his likes....Here that's 2 cartons of cigs......

Absorption via the vaporizer is much slower than via a cigarette, but also isn't quite as fast.  Smoking, you absorb the nicotine in seconds.  Vaping, thirty seconds to two minutes with continued low level absorption continuing well after that.

Your mucus membranes aren't nearly as efficient as your lungs, nor do they have the volume the lungs do.

Plus...I hate to say it, but cigarettes are chemically enhanced to increase both their effects and their addictiveness (check out MAOIs in cigarettes some time.  Reserve an hour and have a Shouting Room available).

Break that, find that the vaporizer is very nice, and you do feel like you want it after three or four hours, but you aren't going to climb the walls nearly as much.

I do chain vape, but that's sheer habit.  If I'm at my computer, I chain vape.  I'm often at my computer.  Ergo...

If I get up and walk away, read a book, garden, whatever, I find I'm not that reliant on it.

We are so proud of you!  And you also already know we are  among the most flawed humans on earth -- which is why we are fun.
