    ironing board. by holding it on the anvil while my dear handy-DH re-riveted the leg joints!

    this is an "antique" wooden ironing board that I've had for around 40 years (!). I got something tangled up the other day and tried to kick it out of the way, and broke one of the legs!

    So... the ironing board now has 2 new legs and a whole set of tight new rivets holding it together. only took us (HIM!!!) about 2 days. the most complicated part of it was peening over the 4 rivet heads that got replaced in situ. we even found a paint color that we already had that almost exactly matched the remaining front leg and wire-works.

    "real" work : a job where you wash your hands BEFORE you use the bathroom...
