  •  Well, (6+ / 0-)
What does it say if someone thinks it's a big deal now, but didn't when it was debated in 2006 under Bush?
That doesn't appear to be about the issue of government spying surveillance on its citizens, it appears to be about the lack of JnH commenting on this issue 7 years ago. That sure sounds like shooting the messenger to me. But perhaps I am misreading.

I'm not attacking you. I am simply pointing out how easily we are distracted from what is important. And what is important is the entire point of this excellent diary.

To me, the media coverage or discussion question is more to the point of "what are people hearing". For people not immersed in politics and who don't frequent cable programs or political web sites, what is the story they're hearing.

Are they getting the surveillance story, or the manhunt story?

We were not ahead of our time, we led the way to our time.
