  •  I agree---to an extent. (none)
I agree that they could have picked a more symbolic place to hold this hearing. Hell, I think it would be entirely appropriate to hold it in front of "the Wall" (ie, Vietnam Memorial). But that's just me.

But, the point of this is to hold the hearing and get the message out there, and nothing outside is going to be very media friendly. It will also be quite hot this time of year, and it could rain...If a room at the DNC is more press-friendly and you can get C-Span coverage there, then by all means they should do so. It is more important that all Americans see this than for us to have immediate revenge on the Republicans. We can always do that later, and as they say, it is a dish best served cold.

However, they should not let this insult from the Republicans go unanswered either. I still like the idea of wearing american flag gags one day in a sort of congressional 'Day of Silence' protest... and then come back the next day with those american flags tied around their arms as armbands to show solidarity. Symbolic.

and I would stand outside all day to be a part of these hearings, and for spectacel, the media will too -- closeting them away in the DNC headquarters is in NO way assuring that ALL AMERICANS are going to see them...ohmifreakinggod, do you know how few people actually watch CPSAN??

    •  How about the National Press Club's Grand Ballroom (4.00)
That place would be perfect.  My band played there once and it is VERY media friendly.

would be the perfect place.  No one could see that and not wonder how long the list of the fallen will ultimately be for the war in Iraq.  Great place to have hearings about the Downing Street Minutes, documents that prove Bush was intent on invading Iraq with no regard for the intelligence or the consequences.
