Generally the things we keep secret are not things we are proud of.

What sorts of things do we do but not in front of the kids, or do to our kids but not in front of the neighbors, or do to our neighbors but not in front of the cops?

If it happens we don't want the Russians or Chinese to know where our corpocracy is going to be looking for energy or other valuable resources and their finding out would mean they would be exploiting some third world country instead of us would this be bad because they exploit workers even worse than we do, or bad because it would affect some multinationals bottom line?

What are our top secrets? Is our technology vulnerable to the competition? Would it be a better world if we all shared the best available technology, pharmaceuticals, cures for cancer, and jobs or just saw to it our corporations monopolized them to increase their profits on the theory some of their profits would benefit us somehow.

Aside from our kidnapping torture, murder, holding without rendition, indefinite detention, intrusive spying and exploitation of workers are there things in the works that are so bad or so risky its just better not to know so if we turn a blind eye we can continue to go through the motions of having a life?
