  •  This will be a little long but here it goes... (11+ / 0-)

Until the age of 22 I had...
2 half sisters and 1 half brother.
Around October of my 23rd year I was informed by my mother that my father was not my biological father.

My bilogical father was a man from Albany who played a year or two for the Washington Generals.  By the time I found out he had six other children all with the same woman.  So my 2 half sisters and 1 half brother were recategorized to "steps".

My new step brother and sisters always treated me as if I was one of their own but the problem was that they were at the very least 10 years older than me so I never felt as close to them.  Not to mention that the sisters and my one brother were only related through my "step" father.

I remember going to visit them in Buffalo from time to time when, short sets were in style.  Like I said they always treated me well but I never felt like I was all that close.  I would sometimes see them as my siblings but for the most part they were always my dads "other kids"

So now I have 4 half brothers and 2 half sisters.  I communicate with 5 of them mostly through facebook.  I talk to the oldest brother about once a month and I think we related to each other as brothers to a degree but the relationship they have with each other is much different.  I'm an only child so the closeness of siblings is something that has always escaped me.  I think because they are a larger clan they did their best to welcome me with open arms which must be tough for anyone who figures out that dad had a life prior to their own.

Anywho, they had been aware of my existence for much longer than I was of their so by the time we met, we were all pretty excited.  Three of the boys made it out to my wedding and we all get along save for the one sister but she just likes to do her own thing.  I believe we all have a mutual love and respect for each other.

Who ya gonna shoot wit dat homie, you'd rather blast an original instead of a phony, true macaroni, you don't even know me, and why does your gun say n****z only?
