...about the gun, why would he move the gun closer to Martin?

    There is no plausible reason.

He would move the gun further away from Martin.

No reasonable person would move a loaded gun closer to a person that they viewed as suspicious.

Now, maybe Zimmerman can explain away this apparent contradiction in his own story, but not without taking the witness stand.

    •  What, was GZ supposed to be afraid ... (0+ / 0-)

the gun might leap out of the holster by itself and start firing?  This argument has never made any sense whatsoever.  Under this theory, all those with concealed carry permits must stay at home?

    •  as i understand the state of florida, people (0+ / 0-)

with guns move closer to people all the fucking time there.

that doesn't mean they intend to kill.  which is to say,  that they have made the choice to murder in that moment.

however, if the audio tape of screams which end exactly at the moment of gunfire can be placed within a second by second timeframe  and which directly contradict zimmerman's claims that he was both being smothered at the time as well as the one screaming ... then you have the 8 seconds, 5 seconds, whatever it was, where the person whose voice ended at the time of gunfire was clearly feeling powerless, and there was that many seconds in which the bearer of the gun had the choice to fire or not.  and he chose to.  and that is second degree murder.
