    ...political epiphanies a generation before you, the young people who took on apartheid the way you did gave us hope that campus activism was not dead. You may not have won at Vanderbilt, but there can be no doubt in any fair observer's mind that the divestment effort had an effect both in South Africa and in America.

    Kudos to you for your work.

    And for this eloquent diary.

      in the anti-apartheid divesture movement or the Central America peace movement or the nuclear weapons freeze movement or the environmental movement, all owed a debt to your generation too, MB.  You-all showed us the way, and were the inspirations for us all.

      And Occupy gave me hope that activism has not ended, and that the current generation is willing to carry the fight on.
