  •  I was door-knocking in Dem neighborhoods (4+ / 0-)

    and could see the 2010 disaster coming like a freight train at the other end of the tunnel.

    "I don't have a job. If I promise to vote, can you get me a job?" (No, sir. Sorry.)

    "My house is being foreclosed. I have more important things to worry about than voting."

    "I voted last time, and things didn't get better. Why should I vote this time?" I answered her, "To keep things from getting worse." She said, "They can't get any worse." I bit my tongue, but as I was walking back down her driveway, I was thinking, "People who say things can't get any worse, lack imagination."

    And here we are.

      didn't go out to vote.

      Now they are really hurting...unemployment just got taken away from 10's of thousands this week.

      The highest form of spiritual practice is self observation with compassion.
