    The reality is that while progress has been made, it has not been across the board.  Black achievement has clustered in urban regions, but once you get an hour or so outside the main cities, you still have counties that have elected few if any black representatives even with a substantial black population.  Ditto for other minority populations.  

    Usually the right wing declaims "judicial activism" but here they cheer a Supreme Court overturning a carefully considered decision of the US Congress.

    Make no mistake - a major, major achievement of the Civil Rights era, of Martin Luther King, Jr. and his coalition, of every American who struggled at risk of life, limb and reputation to make the Constitution apply to all - has been undone.
