... for their own people - and average Americans - like our Cretinous Congress Critters should have stood up for us when Dumbya & Dickie crammed the illegal and unconstitutional AUMF, the Patriot Act, MCA '06, FISA fiasco '08, and MCA '09 through both chambers of Congress.  Our rights were stripped away - including habeas corpus which has been around since June 1215!!! -

I'm finding the actions of foreign leaders extremely refreshing, quite frankly..., and I don't blame the citizens or leaders of any country for being royally pissed off at the US for the draconian way in which NSA has been hoovering and storing ALL data.  In spite of Dumbya, Dickie, and then picked up by Obama and our Cretinous Congress Critters, using the paranoid excuse that we have "enemy ter'rists" out to get us, I don't believe them for a second.  Obviously, they couldn't stop a lone criminal who killed children and teachers at a school.  They didn't stop the mad bombers in Boston.  What the hell good did it do to gather all data on everyone if they couldn't stop those people and/or others from being killed or maimed?

I'm not naive.  I know perfectly well other countries have spied on us, altho probably not to the extent that the US has spied on them; I suspect they have enough good sense to spy on people or places that do pose some kind of real threat to them.  Still, right here in the US, without a proper search warrant that meets the standards of the Fourth Amendment, there is NO reason for our own government to spy on anyone, anywhere, at any time without probable cause to believe a crime has been committed by specific people and/or there's overwhelming circumstantial or real evidence there is a plot by specific people to do something totally illegal, and even then the Fourth Amendment is specific as to particulars for what can be searched or seized.

That one paragraph for the Fourth Amendment is a gem of specificity, as are the other nine Amendments.   Our Founding Documents were written by people who kept their language simple and understandable, even to uneducated persons or those who only had an elementary education in their day.  The Constitution and Bill of Rights were not written by people who put a lot of loopholes, exceptions, and exclusions in our Founding Documents.

Really, just reading our Founding Documents is a pleasure because the words are, in themselves, poetic prose.

Other nations emulated our Founding Documents.  The difference is that they actually live by them..., they don't try to change them or have someone use convoluted pretzel logic come up with "secret laws or secret interpretations" of existing laws to try to get around what was originally written in very public and transparent laws.  Our Founding Documents were not written with the idea that there would be a "secret shadow government" consisting of corporations and banks running things in the background with the transparent part of our Founding Documents "just for show."  That is the most incredibly stupid idea I've ever heard.  My jaw dropped when I heard about "secret interpretations" of existing law, and "secret laws" allowing for spying on everyone.  How damned foolish can they get?!?  And how stupid does Obama think we are to actually believe his claims of running a transparent government...?  I didn't believe his speech in 2008 (his body language was all off), and in hindsight we now know for sure he was lying his ass off.

So, when leaders of other nations (even those who have a history of past transgressions) actually stand up for the correct side of the rule of law and stand up for their own people (and they're even standing up for the Americans who are doing the right thing and reporting the crimes committed by the US government)..., well, that does my old heart good.

We could use a little of the same behavior on the part of our Cretinous Congress Critters and our president and our SCOTUS in this country....  Instead, they treat us like we are their enemies, not the people who "elected" them.

How does that inspire us to "trust" them to give us back our rights and stand up for us, not just the corporations and banks who use money as 'free speech' access to our "elected" leaders?

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor

when I heard the term; "Secret laws..............Secret Interpretations" I nearly threw up.

      In this country?

      Are they kidding?

And people just smile--nod---and move on?

Every right that is taken from us---in "secret" we may never get back.

This is a drumbeat of the erosion of our rights.

And Washington is blatant about it.

      They are point-blank.

We are being deprivd of our rights in this country---and we need to stand up---we need to open our mouths------what is happening in this country is terrifying----and people DO need to stand up.
