    I've been around this here rodeo long enough to know that there's some serious wiggle room built into that sentence for any politician to work with...
    No question about that.

    But let's go to the next step. Why run that idea up the flagpole unless there is a strong probability XL will be cancelled? Putting forth the idea will draw a lot of heat. Turning back from the idea later will draw more heat.

    That draws heat from both sides. Why do that when the alternative, not saying anything, is easy-peasy?

    I think this is a strong signal that the administration is already predisposed to cancel XL.

      For him to put this out there and then not cancel is going to enrage people, and right before the 2014 election. That would be the most foolish thing he's ever done. It would be positively idiotic, and there's no way he's that dumb. I hope at least.

      If debt were a moral issue then, lacking morals, corporations could never be in debt.
