  •  WNS was just "officially" found to be in Missouri (7+ / 0-)

this year but I first started noticing a decline in our bat population at least two years before that so I have a very strong suspicion that it has been here for awhile and has taken a couple years for it to reach the level that it's at today. Just guessing but it seems likely to me. Let us know if you notice any increase or decrease in the numbers around you. A small decline may be the warning signs. It has been slowly advancing westward since it was first discovered back east several years ago but the advance may not be as slow as they think.

What really sucks is that it appears to be leaving no survivors to carry on, at least in this area. And I've read of entire colonies of thousands being wiped out in some states.
