        and doesn't need preclearance, so every violation would seem to contradict him....unless it's a close call, in which case he can just say the court was wrong in finding a violation.

          consistency or integrity from him, are you?  He'll say what he thinks sounds good and he'll do exactly what he thinks he needs to do to retain power for himself and his cohorts.  And I guarantee those two things will NOT be consistent.

      No matter how blatant the abuse, if they drag out the court case until after the election, it's too late. Once that abuse is struck down, they just come up with another: lather, rinse, repeat.
