  •  I thinks it's funny that my new "yard" (8+ / 0-)

    puts me in ~Waterfront when I might see only 4-5 birds on the water. Ahh, just remembered, add another - we saw a family of Canada Geese floating down the lake today. 1 parent in front, 1 in back and 6 goslings floating between. Also a neighbor said he buried a goose that had been washing shore in front of his lot.

    •  I see Canada Geese all the time (6+ / 0-)

      in Florida.  The story I heard is that a wealthy businessman who had a farm in SE Leon County developed a flock of non-migratory Canada geese and they provided the basis for majprity of the Canada geese we see in the Tallahassee area.

      I remember when we first moved to our current home on the eastside, I would run outside every time I would hear them honking as they flew overhead.  But the neatest thing was to hear the whoosh of their wings as they beat them in unison.
