  •  I have to be careful with my shoulders too. (8+ / 0-)

I've injured both of them bad enough to be in pain for a year before I went to get a cortisone shot, which made them stop hurting immediately. Now they hurt for a day if I try to carry in too many bags of groceries from the car. I prop my arm on a pillow at night when my shoulder hurts. That helps.
Is the stress going to be lightening up now at work? Was that the last big deadline for this month?

    •  Maybe I should try your pillow trick? (6+ / 0-)

Worth a shot. Sorry you have trouble with yours, too. I had a wonky knee for much of late winter and spring, and now the knee is okay the shoulder decides it's going to be messed up. Grrr. Is it too much to ask for, to have all the parts working at once?

I have those little plastic handle thingies for groceries; it helps distribute the weight of the bags evenly front and back, so your shoulder doesn't have to do all the work. I'll send you some if you want; I have extras!

Work stress should improve a little; this is one of our worst months and today was one of the worst days---not in terms of number of hours, but it was really stressful. I'm still kind of buzzing with adrenaline. One of those days when a Xanax really would have come in handy, LOL!

How's Dilly and the kitties doing today? Mine are all snoozing right now. Hoping for a rain-free window later on so we can do a late potty break for D. He doesn't like getting his feet wet.

      •  That's right, I remember your knee hurt. (7+ / 0-)

I guess it is too much to ask :-/  I have kind of learned to not try to carry too many bags at once.
I'm glad the worst day is over. Dilly and the kitties are doing good. It's raining off and on here too. Dilly doesn't seem to be scared of thunder now. She looks out the window and watches the rain or goes out on the porch. The cats are done eating and are sleeping here and there and everywhere.

You haven't had a raccoon infestation in a while, have you? Maybe Dilly is keeping them at bay?

We saw a fox on the trail last week...a pretty good-sized one, actually, and not too afraid of people. It was carrying a hunk of garbage in its mouth, so probably just scavenging and used to seeing people, not rabid. I took an alternate route back just in case!

they aren't totally cute. I have pretty much quit feeding the cats after dark outside to keep the raccoon away. Most of them aren't scared of Dilly anymore, so they'll come in and eat in the kitchen.

            •  Aw, good that they're not afraid of Dilly (2+ / 0-)

I'm sure she would not hurt a fly, but the raccoons don't have to know that.
