I figured if I stick with it and actually start becoming sort of competent, then I'll reward myself with a better guitar in a year or two. I'm basically learning from an instruction book and Rocksmith. I keep meaning to look for an instructor nearby on Craigslist, as there aren't any music shops near me. But life has been kind of busy lately.

I have to say, since I've been learning, I hate the fact that there aren't accurate tabs for the songs I like. I was just at a Rush concert and watched Alex play one of the songs I like that I also play on Rocksmith and the opening part wasn't even close. I know for learning guitar, it doesn't really matter, as learning is learning. But that stuff drives me nuts anyways.

Nice diary. Hotlisted for future reference.
