  •  As I said elsewhere, if CIA agents embedded (4+ / 0-)

in police operations are the Stazi, then who and what are they that claim that either this Stazi doesn't exist or that it is perfectly acceptable and necessary for protecting the homeland?

Add the median effective tax rate, healthcare costs (20%?), education costs, and other things guaranteed in Denmark & Sweden, we pay MORE for LESS. Somebody's gotta pay the billionaires. They don't grow on trees. ☮ ♥ ☺

    •  They're relying on the combination (3+ / 0-)

of historical ignorance in the populace and our now formulaicly predictable acceptance of rhetoric-influenced paradigm change.

An uninformed populace just won't accept historical analogies, unless they're complimentary. Even then, it's just 'going with their guts' about the general good nature of their historical peers.

There will be people who will always hold out until the very bitter end.  The "CIA" would literally have to play nazi-dress-up to convince a good chunk of us of their mission, and they've been at it for how long now? All I can figure is that the couch sitters and fence sitters will get it really quick as soon as their standard of living hits one of the many regressive lows we're all due for. Until then it's all hot air, unfortunately.
