    Thanks for a great post.  I was given a photograph from the reunion as a child.  It's this 38"x8" view of Gettysburg & all the tents, etc.  From that time on the reunion has been of interest to me.  I learned a couple new things from you, which is just wonderful!  It truly is amazing that these men who participated in a horrific battle against each other could, and did, come together 50 years later in peace.

    Side note: 10 years ago I wandered the battlefield & happened upon Spangler's Spring.  I saw a small display & began to read, and found myself reading about a man with my name who died there.  It was a freaky moment for sure!
