to other states for jobs. It is bound to happen or may be happening right now. Someone is going to file suit on their marriage not being recognized. Even moving from New York to New Jersey will have that effect. The problem in NJ is Christie and another reason I get so pissed off when I hear Democrats in NJ saying they like Christie and they will vote for him.  Yes, he will probably win big for another term but I love to see his opponent at least run ads letting people know Christie is the obstacle to marriage equality as he vetoed that.

with large population states like California, New York and Mass, the percentages are flowing away from the resistant red states.

      •  Yes and some of these red states though have (0+ / 0-)

a lot of transplants coming to their states for work and I think that will help some of these states to move forward and consider marriage equality or be challenged in court.  As I keep hearing all of these people from the northeast moving to Texas or North Carolina or Georgia for jobs.

Interestingly when it is time for retirement, my sister is finding a lot of people in her area of Atlanta GA who are transplants from the Northeast..are considering moving back to the northeast after retirement. In fact, she is going to retire soon from teaching ..after 30 yrs of teaching in Georgia ...back to the northeast.

But I also know a few liberals from my area who are moving south to retire so there are going to be some liberal retirees in red states too.

      •  If only some of these northeastern blue states (0+ / 0-)

were able to have the jobs for the college graduates from their colleges, that would help. For 30 yrs now, too many PA college students are moving out of state for jobs once they get their degree.  This is happening to nearly all my friends' kids who grow up in PA, go to college in PA as we have a ton of universities, and move to NC, GA, FL,TX for jobs. They get there and love their jobs but are not fond of the baggers and the fundies.
