What, then, do you make of the testimony of the witness who, just seconds after hearing the gunshot, looked outside, and saw the person who was on top in the fight get up and walk away?

    •  Evidence in favor of Trayvon is hugely over- (2+ / 0-)

looked on this site and in the world at large. It is pathetic.

I was most impressed when the prosecutor said:

The guy on top got up and walked away, right?

      That said it all.

I remember hearing, way back at the beginning, that the guy on top got up right after the shot. I even thought it was John Good who said that. However, I've always been confused about how Trayvon ended up on his stomach. Can someone help me with that?

      •  Trayvon on his stomach limits the options (0+ / 0-)

For Trayvon to be on his stomach while the shot went in the front can only mean:

        1. Zimmerman turned over the body, which doesn't seem likely since people looked out so quickly

        2. The two men were face-to-face when the shot was fired with either Trayvon on top or neither of them truly on top but facing each other while kneeling or sitting on the ground.

    •  Well, consider this (0+ / 0-)

The wounds to the back of Zimmerman's head are consistent with blunt force (his head being driven in to the ground, though perhaps not quite in the manner Zimmerman described) and the back of his clothes were wet and had grass on them.  So at some point Zimmerman must have been on the bottom, and the testimony of Good seems to corroborate that.

Furthermore, Trayvon was found lying face down on the grass, no?  And he was shot through the front of the chest, right?  Eyewitnesses say they looked at the scene seconds after the shot and no one mentions one person turning over the body.  So that really only leaves one conclusion: Trayvon was either on top or in front of Zimmerman when the shot was fired, and then fell forward.  If Zimmerman was on top the shot would have either gone through the back, or else he would have had to tuck the gun away and turn the body over in the few moments before anyone looked.

As for the witness who said the person on top got up and walked away, have they testified to that in court yet?  That story may be consistent with the idea that both men were face-to-face (like on their knees or seated) when the shot was fired, Trayvon fell forward, and then Zimmerman got up.  In the dark like that it may have looked like "the guy on top" got up and walked away.  That explanation seems more consistent with the evidence AFAIK.

Does anyone know if the back of Trayvon's clothes were wet and had grass on the back like Zimmerman's did?

    •  If GZ was with his back to the ground when he (0+ / 0-)

shot TM, GZ would likely get up as soon as he could, especially with an adrenalin rush.

      •  True. But. If I am on my back & shoot the person (0+ / 0-)

straddling me, wouldn't that dead person fall on me?

Wouldn't I freak out & shove dead person off of me?

Would that dead person neatly land face down on the ground with hands beneath them?

If shot person fell off of me, in what position would they land?

I just cannot grok how both of Trayvon Martin's hands were
underneath his body if there was a deadly struggle occurring just prior to the gun shot or if GZ was on the bottom & somehow slithered out from under the body without displacing Trayvon's hands

Speculation aside, I truly need that one explained to me & I sure hope the jury wants the same.  Otherwise, to my uniformed mind, my first image is of an execution style killing ala Tinseltown...

TM's body was found, the prosecution will present it.
