some trumped up charge that could get him serving 35 years prison. Nobody thinks OJ is now in prison for kidnapping and theft, do they?

If you are getting beat up but the other person stops momentarily
That didn't happen in vacuum. If he was being beaten it was Trayvon DEFENDING himself from a scary stalker. Trayvon ran from this confrontation. He ran.
If there was a fight initiated by Trayvon it was because he was forced to defend himself. I doubt the fight was started by Trayvon because Rachel stated that she heard him talking and suddenly his phone appeared to have fallen to the ground. My guess is that Zimmerman either punched or pushed him. It is obscene that after that he could murder the teen and then want to claim self-defense. I cannot even begin to wrap my head around that.

    •  Morally, Zimmerman is almost certainly guilty (0+ / 0-)

We don't know for sure who started the fight, but it certainly looks like Zimmerman needlessly and recklessly provoked the circumstances to have the fight start, regardless of who actually threw the first punch.

But we're talking about a court of law, and so who is morally responsible is not the same as who is legally responsible, and so it's quite possible that Zimmerman will walk free.
