  •  Ok--I didn't quote it exactly. But again, I think (2+ / 0-)

we will hear defense repeat this response in closing.  "Per the physician asst., if Mr Zimmerman did not stop the beating it COULD have ended in serious injury".  I personally think that statement hurt the prosecution.  I agree that witnesses are doing well by sticking to the facts as they know them and not letting defense attorneys put words in their mouths.  But I will say again, if the jurors truly came into this case believing Zimmerman was innocent, then based upon the first week of testimony, I don't think they have come close to proving Zimmerman didn't feel he was in serious danger "beyond a reasonable doubt".  And maybe the defense won't have too.  Maybe, the jurors will simply see that Trayvon was simply walking home when confronted for no reason by a man with a gun and regardless of why, the man shot him.  I don't know.  But if all the defense has to do is show that Zimmerman COULD have reasonably been afraid of serious injury, then I think the murder charge is going to be difficult.  People need to relax when reading comments that don't strongly support the prosecutions case.  It doesn't mean that people are automatically rooting for Zimmerman.  It's not personal.  I'm simply commenting on how I have seen the case thus far.  And since all that matters is the 6 jurors, my opinion (and everyone else's here) really means nothing.
