Once again, seal the border air tight twenty years ago, almost 50% of all illegal immigrants would still be here.

About 42, 43 percent of all illegal immigrants come to the U.S. legally, and after having attested that they would leave when their visas expire, they don't.

After having hundreds of millions of dollars poured into it, after having 50 million dollars specifically allocated it in 2010 for the purposes of tracking visa exits, the US VISIT is practically speaking no closer being able to tell you that someone has left the country when their visa expires than it was in 1996

U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology Program (US-VISIT)

Congress first mandated that the former Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) implement an automated entry and exit data system that would track the arrival and departure of every alien in §110 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA). The objective was, in part, to develop a mechanism that would be able to track nonimmigrants who overstayed their visas as part of a broader emphasis on immigration control. Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks there was a shift in priority for implementing the system. While the tracking of nonimmigrants who overstayed their visas remained an important goal, border security has become the paramount concern.

Yet WalMart, or Frye's, or Amazon, or choose your big box store or online retailer can handle 'consumer' transactions in numbers that make the numbers of people crossing US borders look tiny by comparison.

Finally, again, you haven't heard a peep about interior enforcement of immigration law and what happens with all of those who don't qualify under this legislation, and you haven't heard a peep about what happens when current levels of identity theft increase when this legislation is passed.
