And massive improvements in many areas - hell most areas - for sure - totally agree with you.

I just don't think it's a healthy response to our current situation.

the "Best of All Possible Worlds" defense against charges of totalitarianism*, don't you?

Too bad public education was so devastated a couple of generations ago so that kids weren't taught actual history anymore. If they had, this empty argument would probably go much further to placate the sheep than it does.

      * As defined within the discipline of political science by Freidrich and Brzezinski, as a governing system guided by ideology, imposed via officially sanctioned party or parties espousing fundamentally identical philosophies of governance, typically led by a powerful [public] personality or personalities; a system of control through terror, monopoly of the means of communication, sanctioned physical force, and control of the economy by central (state and/or oligarchic) planning and implementation.

        J...

I really need to read more philosophy, although I'm a bit afraid of it.

I'm already way out there socially in terms of normal conversation. That kind of stuff might push me over the edge. :-)

My public education was pretty amazing. Very lucky there. My FB friends from HS too, so many sharp cookies - and normal people too. So many critical thinkers.

        Thanks again.
        Peace~
