I usually stay out of other state's politics.

State Senator Wendy Davis is a great example of how politics is done right. She's a great example for everyone. This week's filibuster wasn't the first time she's stood up for what's right (nor was it her first filibuster). Based on her record, it won't be her last.

I get annoyed when people come from outside my state to get involved with our local politics. But after protestors at the so-called 'Ground Zero Mosque', endless critiques of 'Mayor's Against Illegal Guns', nonsense from the NRA about New York's gun laws and culture, I've resigned myself that because of my state's and city's influence on the national stage, it's inevitable.

Thank you, Governor Perry, for reminding me how important Texas politics are to the health of the nation. And thank you for your words today, which made me realize that the only way to get politicians like yourself, and some of your partners in your home state, off the national stage is to get you out of office.

I hope you all decide to support the movement to Draft State Senator Wendy Davis for Texas Governor.

Thanks to Governor Perry, I certainly am.
