    we're not "wasting our time" when we're focusing on the existing life that's really at the core of the debate: the woman who still has a legal right to a medical procedure that allows her some control over her own destiny.

    Yes, we need to work on programs to make life better for our children, but never, never lose sight of the fact that this is a fundamental human rights debate for women.

      I have said this a number of times;

      "No one LIKES abortion."

      It is NOT an ideal answer and almost always involves a painful choice. BUT, one sure way to make it worse is to criminalize one choice that properly belongs to the one person who has to bear the ultimate responsibility and is entitled to full respect for a choice regarding fundamental rights.

      I get so tired of pro-life people inferring that believing choice should be legal equates to complete disregard for unborn life or some sort of affirmation of "goodness" in abortion.

      Far from it. It is b/c it is so hard that it should be left to a legal decision made very privately, not by negating the woman's rights and leaving her to choices outside of medical - legal protections.

      Blessed are the peacemakers, the poor, the meek and the sick: The "party of Jesus" wouldn't invite him to their convention - fearing his "platform."

        might "like" abortion over the alternative.  Very few things in life exist in a vaccuum, or in a pure state without some context.

        Abortion doesn't ever stand in isolation -- except in the de-contextualized minds of anti-choice activists.
