or anyone else. The problem with Rachel's testimony was that by making it difficult for the court reporter and the jury to hear, and understand her, she hurt the prosecution's case. No one feels bad for defense counsel, but in her mind she needed to understand that she was talking to the jury, not Mr. West. Her demeanor, vocabulary, and voice projection were much improved today. While she said that no one spoke with her, or coached her, last night I find that statement inconceivable. There isn't a good trial lawyer alive that after yesterday's testimony would not have had a prep session with Rachel last night.

She was already sworn in and started her testimony, so if any of her lawyers spoke with her last night they'd have some explaining to do! :)

A real difference between yesterday and today.

I actually wondered if she was able to talk to someone, because her demeanour changed so dramatically. And her "Yes sirs" sounded kind of rote to me. But the Martin family attorney insists she was under guard last night and didn't see anyone.

Of course, she's not a juror, and presumably has no restrictions about using her phone and the internet, other than an admonition from the judge not to talk about the case, so who knows. Take it for what you will.

          •  Ah, so Crump was with her? (0+ / 0-)

That explains a lot.  Her radical change in demeanor certainly didn't occur all by itself.

More interesting:  why would she have needed to have been "under guard"?

She's the prosecution's "star witness," and GZ has a lot of crazy fans out there who are armed stand-your-ground supporters.

That's a bad combination. A scary combination in fact.

We don't necessarily know all the facts.
