like you I attended a Parochial school which also no longer exists.

I have one vivid memory of the worn wooden floors. Penmanship was an important course and our desks contained glass inkwells with metal flip-up covers. We were issued old-fashioned straight pens.Inevitably, a drop of ink would find its way to the floor.

I remember exactly what it was like to be given a paper towel, soaked in clorox and getting down on my hands and knees and ordered to expunge my carelessness.
