    (I haven't seen it) and made the comment 'so-and-so the slave owner was a complete bastard!' in an exasperated tone.  I just furled my brow and replied: People who owned slaves were not nice people.  There is nothing 'nice' about it.

    He had to think about it for a second and go 'oh, yeah...'.

    It is weird how people and so easily ignore the obvious.

    To any wingnut: If you pay my taxes I'll give you a job.

      one member of the panel who had seen it found it hard to see the plantation owner (DiCaprio's character) as a bad person. They couldn't see why he was being talked about that way.

      He kept saying "the only bad thing he did was have slaves." Finally one host said yes, that's what made him a bad person. They ended up having to agree to disagree on whether having slaves really made him a bad person.
