  •  I'm 500 miles from a Tesla dealer. (0+ / 0-)

I've got 220 power, but on the road the best you can usually find is 110. I've done the numbers, and a trip to the nearest Tesla dealer and back would take at least a week. That assumes the Tesla is operable... If not, a thousand mile round trip on a flatbed "tow truck" costs a couple thousand $$$!

If you have the valet service option, they will come to you. And they'll bring a loaner car.

Now what you're really saying is that you live in such a remote rural place that the likely hood of their being a critical mass of Tesla owners to place a service center in closer proximity is nill.

      Not Tesla's fault.

    •  Just so you know if Tesla doesn't work for you (0+ / 0-)

fine, whatever.  But a lot of the things you're saying don't apply to everyone.  It's misleading . . . really misleading.  Not everyone lives 500 miles from the nearest Tesla station.

DC to NY city is only 225 mi; DC to Columbus, SC 500 mi; DC to Boston 450 mi.  Most people don't live 500 mi away from the nearest major city.

As for your other assertions, the battery can be charged repeatedly, and if you want to replace it, all you have to do is swap it out for $60 to $80 at one of their stations.

It doesn't cost $5000 dollars to replace the battery.  That was years ago.
