Apparently, the state of Ohio has a little loophole. You can drink under 21 if your parents are present. I found this out while attending parents' weekend at my daughter's college. We were in a bar/restaurant when she helped herself, and her friends, to the pitcher - that, like most other things in her life, i paid for.  When i inquired as to what the hell she was doing, she cited the law, gave me her heartbreaking little smile, and drank up. When i asked who her daddy was the rest of the semester? Crickets.

There is/was an idea, i believe from the president of Dartmouth, to give kids a drinking license when they turn 18. Like a drivers license. Do something stupid or illegal and you lose it.

I am worried about the binge drinking, in secret, that current laws have created. Prohibition doesn't work.

Peace on Earth was all it said.
