    you have to consider who was killed and by whom.

    On 9/11 the target was the powers that be. The response since then has little to do with protecting the rest of us. Indeed, we have shipped many of the rest of us to the middle east and beyond to provide easier targets. That's a sacrifice the rest of us have had to endure to protect the power structure.

    It gets worse.

    Since terrorists may be hiding among us, the rest of us have to sacrifice our constitutional rights. Any and all threats to the power structure are now dealt with as terror attacks. Anyone who protests fraud and theft by the financial industry is a threat.

    Fear is a disease.

    Others have simply gotten old. I prefer to think I've been tempered by time.
