how they're doing this. trying to kill cfpb because they don't want banks regulated won't garner much support. attempt to tie it to the nsa spying, and maybe enough people will be duped. i'm just curious how anyone who actually wants cfpb regulating banks suggests cfpb do that, if cfpb has no access to banking records.

than trying to squelch all discussion of the issue because it is being raised by people you don't like.

I don't propose shutting down the NSA, but I do have a lot of questions about their data collection activities. I don't see why asking questions about the limits and protections being followed by the CFPB can be automatically equated with an attempt to shut them down.

Rand Paul and I share some of the same concerns about the NSA. That doesn't mean that I am going to become a Libertarian.

the Business Week story. They didn't get their information from Judicial Watch. Don't look now, but you have painted yourself into a corner.

they're collecting data from banks, and keeping the personal info private. the only people quoted who object are bank of america and mike crapo.

this is but an attempt to shut down regulation. if you can't get data from the banks, you can't regulate them. which is the goal.

Except with all the other agencies with whom they must share it with.  I've stopped believing claims from anyone on the government side when they are discussing what they do and don't have, what the do or don't collect, etc. Clapper made it clear Administration higher ups have carte blanche to lie to Congress when it pretends national security is at stake. Not a wedge of difference in national security policy versus Bush, except perhaps much more covert and broader in scope.

who they must share it with.

and now you're hijacking your own diary, taking it off topic, and revealing your real intent. well done! just as judicial watch and bank of america and mike crapo intended.
