  •  ~Sigh~ I can guess because of our weather (3+ / 0-)

Hubby had 2 1/2 inches in his rain gauge after two days this week.

Our youngest son and one grandbaby came down on Thursday hoping to swim in the lake.

Our son pulled some weeds and helped get the raft into the lake and then along came a T-storm and a gusher.

The six year old grandbaby was disappointed big time though she did get some strawberry shortcake.

On Friday, there were more storms and right overhead.  The three booms were so loud that the neighbor ran out to see if something had been hit or if there was a fire.  I was glad I was off the ground line phone.  I had been talking with my daughter earlier.  Hubby, on his way home from town, saw the lightning strike.

No damage to us, but the same neighbor's modem was fried.

Best wishes for trying to be responsible!!

    Best wishes to all here!!!

jlms, if you stop by, check your birthday diary.  I added another comment.   :)

PS...Hubby said he has three orange tomatoes in the garden from the plants he put in early.

.....craziness.  Had some rain today, which put a damper on the evening's outdoor events here, per their website.

We haven't had thunderstorms, probably b/c there's no cool front. Local weatherman said something about Bermuda...anyway, the upshot is that hot, humid tropical weather is here, blocking any cooler, drier air from coming in, and leaving the east with an unsettled weather pattern.

So, almost every day we get one or two downpours, and are just hot & muggy.

Today was the exception...but leaving work tonight, I could feel that the humidity was already back.

......we've got that in spades here.  Plant life will thrive this summer, if it doesn't drown from too much rain this summer, that is.
