    Your argument is valid if, and only if, it can be demonstrated that more people will be kept safe with unreasonable search - NSA snooping - than without it.  

    Unfortunately, the NSA says that's Top Secret.  We don't get to know how it works.

    Therefore we are required to believe that it will.  Belief is a religious virtue.  This imposition of a government requirement for a belief in an invisible power that will keep us safe from harm therefore violates the first Amendment of the U. S. constitution:  "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..."

    (Oddly enough, we've had this same requirement for belief ever since the National Security Act of 1948.  This NSA data vacuum cleaner stuff is nothing new.)
