by who, the neighbor? LOL yep, that's definitive

    •  One of the first witnesses was a civilian police (3+ / 0-)

employee who described the whole thing.  She and a police officer came to the first meeting where the block captains and coordinator were selected by the meeting.  There was about an hour long introduction to the program by the cop and the civilian coordinator of the neighborhood watch program.  It's worth listening to that testimony, direct and cross if you're interested.

      •  Is that the same meeting where they told him (0+ / 0-)

that he shouldn't be carrying a weapon, and his job was to watch and report?

I'd like to start a new meme: "No means no" is a misnomer. It should be "Only 'Yes' means yes." Just because someone doesn't say "No" doesn't mean they've given consent. If she didn't say "Yes", there is no consent.

when asked if they said anything about carrying guns, she said they don't tell them one way or the other --  and something about 2nd amendment rights.

The civilian police employee was a very bad witness for the prosecution, even though they called her.  Her testimony was a Zimmerman love fest -- great guy, glad to have him involved, that kind of thing.

          •  If I'm not mistaken, someone got hold of (0+ / 0-)

the Sanford area Neighborhood Watch pamphlet, and it has a list of do's and don't's and it specified no firearms and watch and report only.
