  •  Indeed (4.00)
This is obviously a self-impressed power play by Wal-Mart to rub it in their employees' noses by having them at management's disposal whenever it strikes their fancy. There is no reason for anyone with a shred of human decency to operate their business this way.

Wal-Mart is remarkable as a rertailer for requiring narrowly scheduled times for reciving merchandise from their vendors. Isn't Wal-Mart open 24-7 (I wouldn't know from ever shopping there)? They can figure out how to get everything done in a timely manner without relying on indentured servitude.

    •  The problem at least (none)
here in Northern Cal is that they are sqeazing costs on both ends. They drastically cut staff, the stockers are literally stocking during peak hours because their backlogged, which means that aisles are usally blocked with cargo. When someone gets sick, that entire department goes "unzoned" until cashiers can be called back to pick up the merchandice. The employee's are told that several months of the year on non-negotiable for vacation time. Etc,.
