  •  evening gulfgal... (7+ / 0-)

i am no longer surprised to see the sort of conservative, authoritarian points of of view vociferously expressed on dkos anymore.  it is not the place that it used to be.  it is evident that our former unity on issues while bush was president was not based on principles, but party identity.

glad to hear that the garden is going well.  we have had a bumper crop of rain this year and our berries are starting to come in early.  ms shikspack picked our first handful of ripe, delicious blueberries yesterday.

We have 15 blueberry bushes, but we failed to net them this year.  :(

I have been waiting to see where this National Pie Day thing is going.  I registered a while back but have not heard anything.  Just wondering.

      •  we had to put cages on our blueberries... (3+ / 0-)

because the pesky darned deer around here eat up any vegetation that sits still.  the damned things have made a mess of my hibiscus tree,  a bunch of hedges and lots of ms. shikspack's flowers.  there's a herd of about 50-60 of them that roams my area.

the pie thing is on its way still.  joanne is working on the site design and is a couple of projects away from finishing that part up.  we're motivated, it'll happen.  soon.  really!

        •  blueberries and pie (3+ / 0-)

Birds are what gets ours and they wait until the berries are almost ripe.  If we net, we have way more than we can eat.  And we even have a metal cage framework for them.  It is just a matter of dragging out the netting and putting it up.  Duh!

I am very much looking forward to the Pie thing.  I can hardly wait.  Thanks Joe. :)
