  •  Possible chance for Democrats in Kentucky: (7+ / 0-)

Kentucky Secretary Of State Alison Lundergan Grimes (D) will run against Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in next year's U.S. Senate election, WLEX-TV reports.

"Grimes is thought to be the Democrats' best hope of unseating McConnell, the Senate Republican Leader. Grimes had been considering whether to throw her hat into the race for the past several months."

Any chance teabaggers can successfully primary Mitch?

"They will not collect a ransom in exchange for not crashing the American economy. The full faith and credit of the United States of America is not a bargaining chip."

    •  I think a top-tier Dem entering... (0+ / 0-)

Has a "rally 'round the flag" effect. Republicans will come together, many of them holding their noses, to back the Turtle Man for fear of handing the seat to a Dimmycrat.

      •  I think in this case it has no effect (1+ / 0-)

I think Mitch was going to win his primary handily whether he got Grimes or a sacrificial lamb from our side.  He's been preparing for this, and preparing to nuke any primary challenger the same as any Democrat.
