is just a show of misguided intolerance is a bitter pill to swallow.  Must dissolve my marriage ASAP, to save any shred of self-respect that I can claim.  Persecution this severe is just too much to bear.

Who knew that it would come to this . . .

    •  I just feel like we totally messed up. (2+ / 0-)

My husband and I missed a great opportunity to use our wedding to make political statements, you know?

I admit I'm surprised that this couple isn't also protesting Loving v Virginia at the same time, frankly. Weddings are expensive. And from the description, it sounds like they spent a bit of money. You might as well make all the political points you can with one.

My husband and I clearly totally messed up with ours.  We even got married in a Catholic church (as opposed to this couple who got married at a barn. Seriously? Are fundies allowed to do that?) We could have made so many statements about separation of church and state, America not being a Christian nation, maybe a statement about abortion rights..

      Dang...

Maybe we should do another wedding. I wonder if hubby would be up to it? Just a year's planning, all the headache, dealing with family, all the expense....

      Heh.

So if you get hit by a bus tonight, would you be satisfied with how you spent today, your last day on earth? Live like tomorrow is never guaranteed, because it's not. -- Me.

      •  Thanks Grover, we have been married 19 but (0+ / 0-)

it will be 25 yrs this September since we met and were pretty much together ever since...so it always seems like much longer than the actual anniversary as we were were living together nearly 5 years before we got married. So it was like being married in almost every way except on paper.
