Unless someone is in a senior management position, where they can control whether the company directs assets to particular needs or not, their pay should not be based on the overall performance of the enterprise.

I look at what's happening here in Seattle. All session long, the populous counties of Western Washington tried to get the state legislature to let us tax ourselves to fund public transit. The legislature refused, so next year we we are looking at service cuts of up to 20%. Ike the sequester, those cuts will not be across the  board. The rush-hour commuters going and coming from major business centers will only face more crowding. People outside of those areas, especially low income neighborhoods will spend hours waiting a bus, in hopes there's even a seat. Of course, we would not have these problems if we had a state income tax, instead of a regressive sales tax.

Workers of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your shackles. It is by the picket line and direct action that true freedom will be won, not by electing people who promise to screw us less than the other guy.
