  •  Well, you were in his house, so to speak. (0+ / 0-)

Had he come to your house, I'd have helped you show him the door.

This minister must have been invited to speak.  Just uncertain why someone would invite someone to speak and not know what they were going to say.

My wedding was pretty well scripted start to finish and we went over the words with my minister (Unitarian, so we covered a wide range of things) and settled everything beforehand.

    •  this was the halleliujah service at st pats in nyc (1+ / 0-)

the fact that it is an easter service corrupted by his ragging on abortion instead of the joy of easter was totally inappropriate.  period.

he had a political agenda, not a christmas or easter celebration.

the tickets for the "performance" are highly sought after since the choir is very famous - it WAS a "performance" - not meant, imho, to be a "lecture" on abortion.

the service is traditionally open to all religious and non-religious folk by ticket.  it is about the choir, not some pathetic bitter old man's grudge against women.

it wasn't even a discussion - it was a beratement of women.

it was ugly and i've never forgotten.

cardinal o'connor - it was christmas eve, i remember now - the most obnoxious service i ever attended - and one of the main reasons i dislike "organized" religion so intensely!

house - not unless his name is jesus.

it is the "lord's" house, not the curator.
