  •  Snowden and Greenwald showed their true colors (0+ / 0-)

when the information they revealed did not show even a single instance of criminality, corruption or even incompetence.

At that point it was clear that they were only seeking to embarrass the govt.

The evidence against Snowden doesn't reach the level of treason but it shows someone way out of his depth who has, perhaps inadvertently, helped the enemies of the U.S.

There was a recent report that Al Qaeda types were changing their communication methods in response to these leaks. Nothing more needs to be said.

While I would love to see Greenwald indicted and hauled off to jail,  there is no evidence that he helped Snowden steal the data.

our leaders....I'd say that the most 'embarrassing' things have been the words coming out of the mouths of our leaders. Whoever wrote Obama's 'spying on our friends is ok because it lets us understand the world better' answer certainly needs to be indicted and hauled off to jail for making the President sound silly.

      •  So... (0+ / 0-)

You honestly believe the Uk, France, or Germany, DON'T have any spy programs keeping tabs on the U.S.?

        Really?

It may surprise you to note, for example, that once upon a time we counted the UK as an enemy.  And Japan.  And Germany.  And Italy.  All are now allies.  Someday, somehow, we could be at odds with one or more of them again.

Things change.  Best not to be caught flat-footed when they do.

        •  Of course they do. (0+ / 0-)

But President Obama's 'reasoning' is ROFL ridiculous.

As for spying on our allies because someday they may be at odds with us- Umm, I believe that is the justification the government is giving for spying on its own citizens.
