  •  well... (5+ / 0-)

given the extensive hearings that were held about bush administration crimes, and all the consequences the bushies paid, when we did have a good house majority, if not 2/3+ of the senate, i think we can trust to precedent.

    •  And at that time as well (0+ / 0-)

people dismissed anyone who tried to stand up for accountability.  So you see it's a self-fullfilling prophecy.  Progressives need to be smarter and more proactive than that.

        •  But again, why does this standard only apply (0+ / 0-)

to impeachment and not to supporting legislation that John Boehner won't pass either?

as on immigration reform, is to make it into a voting issue. when impeachment has the same level of public support as immigration reform or ubc, i'm there!

            •  Then let me ask this. (0+ / 0-)

Where do you think political support for reform efforts comes from?  People have to start somewhere, and when you take the approach that you're only going to support things once they're already a foot from the finish line, that's not very helpful.  We could all accomplish a lot more if we were willing to start things and be patient with growing them.

but also think Obama should be impeached. Neither is going to happen under the current duopolistic political system.

                •  I can't agree with that element of your views (0+ / 0-)

but if you support impeaching the Roberts Five, have a look at the petition in my sig line and consider signing it.
