  •  But, but, but, how can a bunch (8+ / 0-)

of fragile little ladies who can't even be trusted to make responsible decisions about their own bodies also be an unruly mob? Either Texas women are too infantile or they have become too powerful. Which is it?

    •  an unruly mob is a sign of just the opposite... (2+ / 0-)

...of having power. Or else why do people demonstrate in the first place? Certainly not because they feel they have any power over and any confidence in their government to do the right thing. Demonstrators feel just the opposite of empowerment; they have no voice in determining their own destiny. This feeling of being powerless to influence a government that ignores phone calls, letters, and emails causes a sense of desperation that demonstrations are the only recourse left to make a tone-deaf government listen.  The end of the Vietnam war -and LBJ's presidency can be directly attributed to the antiwar wing of his(our) Democratic party.

As far as being "infantile", don't throw me in that briar patch. I've never been one to put my neck on a chopping block. I respect the power. Any man will tell you, "hell has no fury like a woman scorned".

      ... by their husbands.

Apparently that is alive and well in Texas even today.
