      ...honest taxpayers" is more accessible, meaningful, and relevant to Jane and Joe Sixpakk.
      Polysyllabics and arcane / archaic vocab are fine for the choir-preaching.
      But if we hope to reach the moderates, the uncommitteds, the lo-infos, and the persuadables among the Publicans (and there are at least some), we have got to start speaking their language.
      And it can't hurt to do so even on our own sites.  You never know who might drop by, and it helps to make speaking in such terms more.natural and automatic.  (Not to mention we get better at it with constant practice.)
      Just sayin'...
